102-yr-old sprinter in saree gets set for 100-metre event in UP

At the age of 102, Kalawati is gearing up to participate in a 100-meter race at the Sansad Khel Pratiyogita Kashi-2023. Inspired by PM Narendra Modi's efforts to promote sports, Kalawati registered for the event. Her life has been a marathon of overcoming adversity, starting from being married at the age of 10 and later deciding to part ways with her husband. Despite the challenges, she took care of her family's farms and emerged as the grand matriarch. With her interest in sports and fitness, Kalawati's family decided to ensure her participation in the event, enrolling her in the 60+ category.
