Kharge thanks Congress for making 'worker's son' party chief

Mallikarjun Kharge formally took over as the national president of the Congress party on Wednesday. The veteran leader was handed over the certificate of election to the top post at an event at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi. Kharge's marks the first election of a non-Gandhi to the post in 24 years.
