A magistrate’s court on Monday issued a bailable warrant against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for failing to appear in a defamation case filed by professor Medha Kirit Somaiya, wife of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. Medha’s lawyer Vivekanand Gupta said that Raut was not represented by a lawyer either. A bailable warrant of Rs 5,000 was issued, Gupta said. The matter was adjourned to July 18.
