Two PureEV scooters caught fire in Hyderabad in September 2021, followed by another in Chennai last month. News on electric scooter fires has been rather constant since the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter was seen on fire on 26 March in Pune. These incidents have unsurprisingly triggered a debate on EV battery safety.
