After months of wrangling over Captain Amarinder Singh’s fate, Congress in Punjab is back to square one after Navjot Sidhu, who led the dissidents to press for Amarinder’s ouster, quit as the Punjab Congress chief. The state is very crucial for the party to stage a comeback at the national level and till six months back it appeared to be in a comfortable position.
